Pregnant and Alone: How Do I Handle Three Children On My Own?

Let’s talk about being single and pregnant. How do you raise three children on your own? I was in this exact same situation asking myself the exact same question when I found out I was pregnant with my third child and her father refusing to help or even be apart of her life.

How will I do this?

The same way you took care of your first two children but this time while your pregnant, you’re going to get prepared ahead of time by doing the following.

3 Things to Get In Order Now:

  1. Your support circle. While you’re pregnant use this time to look for local daycare providers, check their prices and availability and see if they are a good fit for you and your family. I would also recommend going to care.com and interviewing nannies and babysitters that you could interview and get to know and start to build a relationship with so that in the time of need, you have their contact information stored already in your phone ready to help you. Lastly, I would also recommend you find a church home who will walk alongside you and help you in this season of your life.
  2. Finances. If you find yourself every month having more bills then money then you might want to consider learning how to budget. A good book that I recommend you read that would help teach you how to budget your money is Dave Ramsey “Complete Guide to Money” and I also recommend his Financial Peace University class. These two resources will help position your family for success by teaching you how to budget and manage your money, pay off debt that would assist with raising your credit score and investing your money in a way that it works for you.
  3. Work on yourself. Do you still think about your baby daddy? Wondering how could he walk away so easily? Do you have unanswered questions concerning the breakup that you need answers to? If you’re nodding your head “yes” then right now your focus should be on working on yourself and dealing with any and all unresolved issues.
