How do you get everything done? How do you find the time to cook? Wash clothes? Clean up? Help kids with their homework? Find time for myself…
You know, I get it. As a single mom of three children I am constantly trying to find that work life balance. I use to drive myself crazy trying to get everything done in one day til where I found myself exhausted. It’s hard for me to sit in a home that’s unorganized and messy, it will just drive me crazy so I had to find a way how I was getting things done around the house without burning myself out at the same time.
Here are some tips to help you get things done around the house:
- Schedule tasks for each day. Sunday is grocery shopping day. On this day, I sit down and plan out our meals for the week, what we are going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and write those items down along with our snacks. This helps guide me while in the grocery store and make grocery shopping easy. On Tuesdays, I’m cleaning up the house which means I’m cleaning up the entire bathroom, sweeping, mopping etc…and I do the same thing for the kitchen, living room and dining room. Saturday is laundry day and after washing our clothes, I also iron all of the kids clothes for the week. This makes it easy for me during the week when we’re running late or behind for an appointment, I can just grab the kids clothes out of the closet and put it on them.
- Use a to-do-list to help you get things done. I work well with a to-do-list and seem to get more done when I take out the time to write down all of the things that needs to be done verses trying to remember them in my head.
- Create a schedule for your children and yourself to help keep you on track with your child sporting activities, tutoring and or any other outside activities that your child is apart of.
